Eric Donald Oliver

Eric Donald Oliver, 69, of Shavertown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home with his loving husband and furry companion at his side on January 27, 2024. He was born on May 16, 1954, in Denville, NJ, to the late Lloyd and Dorothy Oliver.

Eric was a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for over 40 years. His career took him to various hospitals including Geisinger, Bloomsburg Hospital, Williamsport Hospital, The VA in Wilkes-Barre, and even San Juan, Puerto Rico. Eric's passion for nursing extended beyond his work as he also taught nursing at Red Rock Job Corp.

In addition to his career, Eric had many interests and hobbies. He was a fun-loving father, always there with advice when it was needed. He cherished his role as a loving and devoted husband to Joe Kaiser. Together, they embraced life's adventures and were inseparable. Eric adored his grandchildren, Sarah, Owen, Amelia, Quinn, Ethan & Romann, he loved spending time with them and loved hearing about their activities. He had a special place in his heart for his furry companion, Tottie, and had a deep love for animals in general. Eric also had a passion for music, singing in various choirs and even learning to play the piano later in life. Camping, Baking, good food, and entertaining friends and family were among his other cherished pastimes.

Eric leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memorles. He is survived by his husband, Joseph Kaiser, his daughter Samantha Eyer, son-in-law Michael Eyer, son Jonathan Oliver, and his partner Toni Rinker, grandchildren Ethan and Romann Oliver, Sarah, Owen, Amelia & Quinn Eyer, step-daughter Beth Coates, and her husband Thomas Coates, and niece Amanda Longoria and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Oliver, and his wife Anne Oliver.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced on Facebook. In lieu of flowers, contributions to help offset funeral expenses can be made through the attached Go-Fund Me account.
