Goal: 35,000 For Treatment at CHIPSA Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico. Funds Needed by June 2020. All Treatment has to be paid in advance.
Summary: "So, this week, when we reviewed the most current scan with our doctor and found out that while some of the disease was the same, there were now new spots that weren't seen before. Not the news we hoped for. After talking with our doctor, he encouraged us to look into all of the options available to us for this type of disease and he changed the chemo therapy again."
Story: Eric was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with metastatic disease to the liver in November 2017. A successful, yet life threatening surgery, removed the tumor in the colon with an 18 inch resection as well as a surprise gallbladder removal. Immediately after surgery, we began traditional oncology treatment in obedience to the Lord and in faith with the doctors He had aligned us with.
Chemotherapy has been ongoing since that time. In 2018, a job loss created a difficult health insurance dilemma and a 5 month treatment hiatus. During those months, obstructive jaundice due to a biliary duct blockage from the disease set in and proved to make the next 15 months extremely chaotic and frankly, scary at times. Those months we fought hard and prayed harder.
The Lord has been present in every detail, never leaving us to go at this alone though and for that we are truly, deeply grateful. We saw great success from the chemo treatments since 2017 and into 2019 once several changes were made to get back on track while dealing with the jaundice. Coming into 2020 we were finally feeling more "normal". Eric has been feeling good and despite the hardest year ever in 2019, he has continued to work full time, as the sole provider for our family, and we saw Jesus shine brightly in many, many areas of that season.
In 2.5 years, we have never reviewed a CT scan that showed anything but regression! That's ONLY GOD! So, this week, when we reviewed the most current scan with our doctor and found out that while some of the disease was the same, there were now new spots that weren't seen before. No the news we hoped for. After talking with our doctor, he encouraged us to look into all of the options available to us for this type of disease and he changed the chemo therapy again. We know that medically, oncology can only do so much due to regulations but we also know that we serve a God WITHOUT limits.
We quickly got to work praying and seeking wisdom. We had previously done a lot of research on holistic, natural healing. Eric actually wanted to start with this approach first so we knew there were treatments that could work in that arena. Since Monday, by sheer grace, we have been able to contact CHIPSA Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico & complete medical history, a phone consult, logistics consult and BEEN APPROVED FOR EVERY TREATMENT THEY OFFER FOR HIS DISEASE!!! Praise Be!
This facility offers an all inclusive treatment plan for a duration of 3 weeks plus a 3 month at-home protocol and supplements. He would get treatment 3 days a week and have classes and other therapies along with nutrition training on the other 2 days a week. Sat/Sun are rest days. They utilize a body and mind approach which includes spiritual strengthening as well and pyschological training for complete healing. The treatment for him would include high doses of vitamins, low does of chemo-therapy, Gerson diet protocol and juicing, mixed therapy vaccines, IV Ozone therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy, Insulin therapy and much more. All of his transportation to treatment, chair fees, doctor/nurse staff, meals, training and at home care are included in the price of treatment and they will provide us outpatient lodging at their contracted condos in Tijuana at our cost. AND...AND... we can take our family of 4 with us since we are outpatient. We have the opportunity to take our children with us, undistracted, to a new place, where they can watch the healing happen day by day. They can be a part of God's natural healing with Eric in a way that they couldn't match here at home. This will be intimate and heavenly charged healing that will open our hearts to the Lord in a new way and we are thrilled at this possibility. Thrilled!
Moments after wrapping up that call with CHIPSA and receiving the final cost of treatment, we wept in joy for such a place as this and for the ease at which it has come together thus far. We want to make reservations to get there and get this treatment ASAP and we're working on organizing it already. With a total at $35,000.00 it will be a challenge. Not impossible but challenging. Eric continues to remind me that the Lord has 100% of the time shown up to our battles and came away with a victory. We're trusting that His faithfulness will make our way straight once again. Please join us in prayer over these things and continue to seek God in your own battles. He's there. MIGHTLY.
In Him,
Eric & Crystal Staggs
