Eric Wee returns to God

Hi, my name is Evan, and I am fundraising for my beloved dad, Eric Wee, who passed away on 24 Aug 2022.

Eric is a first-generation Canadian who came to build a new life and future for his family at great personal sacrifice to his career in his homeland. Despite much hardship and tribulations, he overcame much of them and made sure his children never had to experience the same struggle.

In late 2020, Eric discovered that he had developed liver cancer just as his father had before him. We decided to move to London, Ontario for continued care and living arrangements that would better fit his circumstances. He underwent surgery in early 2021 to excise the tumour. Unfortunately, by early 2022, the cancer resurfaced and by mid 2022, Eric became ineligible for liver transplant, and hence sought immunotherapy as his most optimal treatment option.

Tragedy struck again as within weeks of the first dose, Eric developed complications from the treatment's side effects and was quickly warded to the ICU. After three weeks of hard-fought resistance, Eric passed beyond into the embrace of God. The professionalism, empathy and kindness of the medical team and ICU at University Hospital (London), cannot be understated.

Eric is survived by his faithful and ever-loving wife, Ruby, his children (Evan, Erin and Ryan), their spouses (Mai and Ryan V) and four adorable grandchildren (Archer, Eliora, Arielle and Ronen).

Eric has been the breadwinner for his family, especially for Ruby. Due to his late start in Canada, he had a limited ability to build a retirement for himself and his dear wife. This fundraiser is solely for the benefit of Ruby Williams, who has been his life partner and stuck through it all, even unto his last breath.
