Erica and Juan’s Home Lost in Altadena Fire

Donation protected
Hi everyone. I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister Erica, her husband Juan, and their children Julián (8) and Eliza (6), whose home burned down on January 8th in the Eaton Fire. While we’re so grateful they made it out safely with their sweet dog Luna, they have nothing to return to—and the only things they own are the items they could quickly throw in their car the night they evacuated. Any donation you can manage will go toward rebuilding their life. This includes urgent needs such as clothes, shoes, toiletries, groceries, and school supplies and tablets for the kids.

But it is a long road ahead of them. It will take several years to reestablish their home in Altadena, and right now their family is in a period of great transition. In order to find some stability, they are hoping to secure a long-term rental in the area so the kids can continue to attend Jackson Elementary. Once they are out of emergency mode, they’ll need furniture, bedding, kitchen and bathroom furnishings, and things for young kids to make memories in their new home.

Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated. To help them, please click on the fundraiser below.

Quick Extra Note: Over the course of five years, they made this house their home—nurturing a garden with plants native to the area, playing tag in the backyard around the tangelo tree, and hosting Daisy Troop 5935 meetings. They love the surrounding community, and as soon as they’re back on their feet, Erica and Juan are eager to help the rebuilding of Altadena at large.
