❤️❤️ Update ❤️❤️

It’s officially been a week since a beautiful family donated the heart of their loved one to me. I have no words. Not sure I ever will. I am alive because someone chose to donate. I’m alive because God chose this path for me. I have a future. How do you begin to comprehend all of that?

There will never be enough words to thank my family and friends that have made trips out to see me, sent food, gift cards, looked out for my Mom,donated to my GoFundMe page and the PRAYERS!!!!! The love I feel is priceless. To know the kindness in the world still exists. God has changed my life forever. I cannot wait to travel this new path.

I know it will be a long journey. I will be traveling back and forth to Boston every week for the next year to have biopsies done and to monitor my new rejection levels, but it’s all part of this gift.

But again thank you to all of you that continue to standby me in faith and prayer. I will continue to need those prayers for quite awhile.

Update as of 4/30

Today is the day we’ve all waited for. The day Erica has received the call that will forever change her life. A heart has been donated. As long as it is viable and sustainable the transplant will proceed. Please join us in praying for her surgery, recovery, journey and the family that has donated this gift of life.

Update as of 4/28

Erica has undergone her second surgery. She was cleared from Oncology and immediately went to the O.R. to have the Impella pump implanted in her chest. The pump is currently pumping blood through her heart for her and she has been moved to the ICU. Erica will remain there until she gets a call for a new heart. We do not know the time frame as it could be weeks to months. Please keep praying and donate or share as your heart allows. Anything to lessen the burden for her and her family.

The end game of my 15 year journey. I’ve been accepted on the heart transplant list. Yay!!!!

It’s been a long road and a hard one for sure. It has definitely come with it’s complications. With all of the testing I’ve had the last few days, they found a mass on my appendix that has to be removed before we proceed for my heart. So within the next couple days I will be having surgery, then with the Grace of God, if it’s benign we will begin the stages of heart transplant. I will be admitted into Cardiac ICU and a pump will be inserted into my chest to pump blood flow for my heart and I will be listed at a 2. They are hoping that this plan of action will get me a heart in a couple weeks. This has always been my end game, for those of you that have been on this journey with me know. But now that the day is finally here it’s definitely bittersweet.

So if I can ask all of you for anything it’s please pray. Pray for my son as we are apart for so long, pray for a benign tumor, pray for a healthy and viable heart and pray for God to be with those Drs during my procedures. My life is in Gods hands and my future is his. I have faith in him that he will never leave my side.
