Erica's two sons need a healthy mom

This is my sister Erica Fabila (26), and my two nephews Adrian (7) and Javian (4) need a healthy mommy!

On October 15, 2014, Erica was rushed to University Medical Center where she underwent countless tests. She was hospitalized for three weeks where she was later diagnosed with End Stage Renal failure Disease. Since November, she has had 5 surgical procedures and was put on both chemotherapy and dialysis. Although she and her family were hopeful, chemo did not work in her favor. This drastically reduced the chances of reversing the 70% damage to both kidneys that had already taken place.

Erica has been advised by numerous doctors that a transplant would be the best option for her specific situation. While on the waiting list, she was attending dialysis three times a week, for four hours each time. Because of this, her hours at work had been cut in half. She has recently transitioned to peritoneal dialysis where she performs it on her own at home; however, her normal monthly bills, medical bills, and cost of medications have already piled up. It could be tomorrow, next month, or years from now when she gets the call that they found a matching kidney donor, but we need to start saving up for the cost of the transplant (not sure how much Medicare will cover), post-transplant prescriptions, etc which total could end up costing up to $300,000.00.

Since the onset of her kidney failure, Erica has tried to remain positive and continue living her life as normal as possible. She has since graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She is the mother of Adrian (7) and Javian (4), and the daughter of Ernest and Diane Fabila.
