Eric's Heart Failure Journey Therapy Sessions

Hi my name is Ronica and I'm a very close friend of Eric's. Eric has been my friend and farrier for my horses for over 10 years until June 1, 2023 when he found out he was in heart failure.

I come from a military family with all 3 of my brothers being veterans. Eric served his country in the USMC and is a combat vet whos life was drastically changed last summer. Such a drastic change has mentally taken a huge toll on him.

He has been in counseling with a therapist since September 2023 who knows his type of combat veteran all too well. This fundraiser is solely for his weekly therapy sessions. He still currently is not permitted to work and has no source of income. The counseling office has allowed him to run a balance and I have taken on the roll of raising the funds to cover his sessions.

I have had success with some veteran non profits helping out but now those resources are limited.

100% of your donation will be sent to Great Lakes Wellness Center. As of right now there is a $920 balance on his account.

The medical update is Eric has been transferred to the advanced heart team of Corewell health. At 39 years of age heart failure like his is just not common. The new team of doctors are coming up with a plan and some new medicine. He will be having a 2nd heart ablation surgery in April. The first surgery in October has helped his afib but he is still having afib. I have been told an ablation surgery on someone's heart has only 2 chances to be successful.

Since his therapist office does not take his state providedinsurance each weekly session cash cost is $120. The VA continues to deny his claim and social security disability also denied his claim. His lawyer continues to work on both claims.

Any donation amount will help him continue to mentally get through this time and be here for his daughters, family, and friends. He is incredibly strong for asking for help and as his friend I'm honored to help him.
