Erika Brissette

Simi Valley Police Department’s valued employee, dear friend and co-worker, Erika Brissette, was diagnosed in October 2017 with Leiomysarcoma (LMS), a rare form of cancer that develops in soft tissues; LMS is considered a malignant cancer.

Erika took one year off of work to battle this cancer head-on and has undergone extensive chemotherapy since the diagnosis.  In November 2018, she returned to work on a part-time basis, while continuing her chemo treatments.  Erika is a fighter; however, due to the aggressive nature of the cancer and side-effects of chemo, Erika is no longer able to work, not even on a part-time basis.   
 
This is where you can show your support to a valued member of the Police Department – please consider contributing to Erika’s GoFundMe campaign.  Financial burdens have compounded due to Erika’s illness and now this two-income household will be reduced to just one income.  Every donation in any amount will help relieve some of the financial pressures resulting from the loss of income.  Your donation will allow Erika to stay home with her 11-year old daughter, who is a tremendous encouragement, and it will allow Erika to focus on her treatments without the stress of not knowing how bills will be paid.
