For anyone who knows my mom (Cindy), knows that she goes above and beyond to help anyone who needs her. Regardless if it is her painting skills, decorating skills, always making someone feel welcome, or just needing a shoulder to lean on.
As most of you know she tore her meniscus in her knee. They had surgery set for the week before Christmas. Just days before her appointment they called and told her she would need $1700 on the day of the procedure. This came as a shock and she had to cancel so she could collect the money.
She (and Scott) worked and hustled and pulled together the money. The surgery date had been set again and all was right in the world. When she came to visit my family in N.C. her Dr. office called again and said she not only needs the $1700 but another $1500 to pay the surgical center. Again, information that was not given until right before.
So here she is yet again, in pain, trying to make this happen. It took her 4 months to collect the last $1700 and the thought of her having to go another 4-6 months in pain while she raises the rest of the money is unbearable to think about.
I have heard her for months complain about her pain and just wanting this surgery and for this to be over. I have tried to console her and tell her it will all work out. However, I did not fully realize the extent of her pain until she came to visit and I could physically see the toll it has taken on her mentally and physically.
She is set to have the surgery March 17th and can not do so until she has the rest of the money. She is not one to ask for anything. So, I will do it for her. Please lets pull together for a woman who is constantly giving of herself and asks for nothing in return.
Any amount helps. Thank you.
One of her awesome girls,
