Help Send Erika to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia!
My name is Erika Onsrud and I am feeling the Bern! I have been elected as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on July 24th-28th. I am humbled and honored to represent the 99%! I live in Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota. Senate District 60, Convention District 5. I'm livid that the media has called this election for Hillary from the beginning! The National Delegation has a lot of persuasion! It's not over until the National Delegates and Super Delegates vote in Philly! Sanders is still within striking distance, regardless of what the media says. Let the super delegates and National delegates actually vote on behalf of the American people!
I have never been so involved in this process. I have always been active and voted at every opportunity, but I never had a candidate I am willing to give so much of my time, energy, money and passion! I am proud to stand up and fight for Bernie!
Senator Sanders has earned my vote thru his lifelong action and his voting record. He asked his supporters to help his delegation get to the convention.
I am a single parent of two beautiful people, ages 7 and 17. I am hoping that I will not have to take on debt in order to represent my fellow Berners at the Democratic National Convention.
I have been committed to the political revolution since the beginning. I have been phone banking for Bernie since January. I have spent days attending conventions and rallies to push for Senator Sanders progressive platform.
I believe in a single-payer universal health care system, healthcare is a human right! I am an Independent health Insurance broker. Let's put my business out of business! I love my Seniors and I love helping them navigate a crazy insurance industry. I started my brokerage in 2007 when I saw a need in my own family and community. Oftentimes, I do not get paid anything or only a nominal fee when I sign a client up for a publicly funded plan. Regardless, I do what is in the best interest of my client. The laws limited the enrollment period shortly after I got my insurance license. Now, my 2 children and I live below the poverty line even though I have always worked more than one extra job! We do have everything we need. I have always managed to make ends meet and provide, sometimes, seemingly by miracle! The universe works in mysterious ways.
Now the revolution has finally arrived! I am thrilled to have a candidate that I am so proud to support! We are sending a strong message to the political establishment in this county.
According to my local MN DFL party, this trip is expected to cost ~$4000. We pay for our own lodging, transportation, food and incidental expenses. All of the costs are inflated. I will be driving from Minneapolis MN to Philadelphia PA and sharing lodging to cut costs. I will be traveling with Skylar, my 17 year old. I am excited to share the democratic process with Sky!
This is a once in a lifetime moment and I am immensely thankful for this historic opportunity!
I would be grateful if you are able to contribute any amount. Everything helps, even $5 toward the cause. No amount is too small! Please help me get to Philadelphia to stand up and be counted for Bernie! I am hoping to fund raise $3000 by the 4th of July. I do not want to go into debt in order to represent my fellow Berners!
