Erik Got a Tropical Infection in the Arctic

I'm Erik. It's a long story (see below by clicking "Read more"), but somehow I possibly got a nasty flesh-eating tropical infection in the high Canadian Arctic of all places. 

I've been in insurance hell for days only to realize at the end of "Part 6" of my ordeal that I might not necessarily be covered for all the medical services that kept me alive on the NGCC Des Groseilliers, at the clinic in Resolute, at (life-saving) Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqaliut, and Hôtel-Dieu de Québec hospital in Quebec City, Canada. The fine print of my travel insurance says I'm only partially covered for medical expenses (up to only $10k) and I have no idea what the bill may be.

Doing the math of what I do know, as a non-Canadian not benefitting from universal healthcare, I'm worst-case-scenario guestimating bills totalling $41k, but overestimating $50k for the goal. I have yet to factor in how my regular medical insurance fits into this mess, but I promise to return whatever I don't need from the fund back to you. Not sure how that works yet, but I'm smart and can figure something out. I'm making this up as I go.
