Erin Julianna's Semester at Sea Voyage

Hi everyone, my name is Erin Julianna Gonzales and I am local to Blue Ridge, GA, and attended Fannin County High School. You may know me from the Trailer Drive-In, the school system, or you may know my family. While choosing a college, I knew I wanted to go to a bigger school and get out of the small town feel. My heart was set on the University of Georgia or Georgia Tech; however, neither of the schools offer nursing as a major. Funny enough, I ended up feeling right at home at the University of Georgia's rival school. I now attend the University of Alabama and its Honors College, where I participate in Alpha Phi, UA's Nursing Christian Fellowship, and Tuscaloosa's Church of the Highlands. I am majoring in nursing and minoring in global and cultural perspectives. I know that's an odd combination, but my dream is to be a pediatric nurse practitioner and work in the missionary field. I want to care for God's children and spread His word all at the same time. Due to this passion, I will be going on a Semester at Sea Voyage in the Spring of 2024. I was one of around 600 students selected around the world. This one-of-a-kind study abroad experience requires travel, fuel, transportation, and living expenses. This has been my dream since I was twelve years old, and I'm trying my best to make this dream a reality. My ultimate goal is to eventually come back to Blue Ridge, and settle down to take care of the children of Fannin County.
