Hello my name is Leah,
On November 12, 2016 my cousin Erin was the victim of domestic violence from her abusive boyfriend. She was beaten and knocked unconscious. She sustained a traumatic head injury that resulted in a blood clot in her brain requiring immediate surgery . While unconscious she aspirated fluid into her lungs causing pneumonia. She has multiple contusions, and lacerations. She is in a coma on life support and breathing only with assistance of a ventilator. Over the weekend she has taken a turn for the worse. Pneumonia has become double pneumonia she has developed c-diff infection from all the antibiotics, MRSA infection, blood clots, fluid retention, and a high fever. Tuesday the doctors performed a chest port to administer antibiotics and placed a IVC filter into her artery to keep any blood clots that have formed from traveling to her brain and causing a stroke. At this time the doctors are doing everything they can do but her health is rapidly declining and family has been called in.
This was something that was not expected or planned for her, family and friends have been left devastated. Erin was a vibrant full of life 34 year old that had her whole life ahead of her. She was a college graduate and hard working individual that was loved by many. Erin does not have any health insurance and no life insurance to assist in the many unexpected expenses. Please if you are able to donate we greatly appreciate anything and everything helps. The money will go for medical expenses, any expenses that may arise to assist her mother in staying with her at the hospital and ultimately any funeral/burial expenses if or when the time comes.
