Erin Toland Boyer Memorial Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
The family of Erin Toland Boyer is creating a scholarship fund to honor and celebrate her memory. She was a beautiful daughter, sister, mother and wife -- and a true and loyal friend. Though her time here was too brief, she left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Erin had a magnetic presence and an extraordinary ability to forge meaningful connections near and far; she made us all feel special and loved; and as one friend put it, "Everyone needs an 'Erin' in their lives." She was a bright light for so many of us.
To ensure that Erin's bright light continues to illuminate the path for others, this college scholarship will benefit one female graduating Apollo-Ridge High School senior annually who intends to pursue a career in chemistry, biology, health sciences, or related fields. Erin was a 1995 graduate of Apollo-Ridge School District, where she was a member of the Science Club (among many other student organizations), and at Penn State University she majored in biochemistry & molecular biology. She began her professional career as a research scientist at GlaxoSmithKline, before joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, then Mesa Labs and finally Azenta Life Sciences.
The scholarship assets will be housed and managed by the Armstrong County Community Foundation, a public nonprofit that issues scholarships and programmatic grants to support organizations and students in Western Pennsylvania. (Jodi Beers is the Executive Director of the Foundation; she is listed as a beneficiary for the GoFundMe account so that the money raised here is transferred directly into the scholarship fund.)
We thank you in advance for your generous support.
