Erin’s Gender-Affirming FFS Surgery

Hello family and friends!

Facial feminization surgery (FFS) is one of the last steps on my transition journey that I’ve been on for the past SIX years! But, I’m so close to finally being done, and I need some assistance!

FFS is the re-sculpting of the bones in my face to give a less masculine appearance that is congruent with my gender identity and expression! It’s a lot less scary than it sounds, trust me! This procedure will give me a MASSIVE increase in my quality of life. Still, most insurance providers consider it cosmetic, unaware of all the psycho-somatic benefits it can offer a trans individual. Unfortunately, that means I will have to eat the whole cost myself.

Here is an itemized breakdown of why I am asking for $8,000. Please note that I can only speculate the anaesthesia and hospital costs based on my independent market research and past surgery with this hospital network.

-$3,000 Procedure (mandible contouring)

-$1500 Anesthesia (1.5 to 2 hours)

-$2500 Hospital fees (Operating room, meds, bed, PACU, etc.)

-$1000 Recovery fund (Transport, food & grocery delivery, medicine, etc.)
