Erin’s road to recovery from surgery.

Hi, my name is Erin, my health journey started in January of 2022. I had quit my job in Dec. of 2021 working in construction to pursue my own business as a California home inspector. The end of January I ended up in the hospital with a bloody nose that lasted for 3 days. My blood pressure was out of control so I sought out my current doctor and started treatment.

In the meantime I was continuing the certification course for home inspecting and getting an LLC established which went ‘live’ Feb 16th 2022. Little did I know that March 22nd I was going to end up back in the hospital because my whole right side went numb and I thought I was having a stroke. I have not been the same since. I did not have a stroke but learned my brain was full of lesions and an ER doctor prematurely diagnosed me with MS. I was devastated and in the 3 months it took me to get the appointment with the neurologist who told me that I did not have MS I had applied for temporary disability. It took another 7 months of nonstop doctor’s appointments and trips to Sacramento to find out that my legs weren’t working right because I needed back surgery. I have severe degenerative disc disorder in all 3 sections of my spine with neuropathy and muscle damage in my neck, stenosis with spurs in my thoracic spine and the worst was in my lumbar spine for which I had surgery for last month. Needless to say I dissolved my LLC before I was even able to do any inspections.

One month after surgery and I’m finally able to move around without excruciating pain and although the condition of my legs are better than before surgery it goes back to the same condition if I walk too far. My temporary disability ended March 2023 and the decision on my permanent disability appeal is in only stage 2 of 5. The funds I’m trying to raise will be used for monthly bills and living expenses and transportation as I no longer have a working vehicle.
