Ernie Velasco's Funeral and Medical Expenses

Donation protected
On October 23rd, 2020, Ernie Velasco passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home in his sleep.

Ernie fought two different kinds of cancer simultaneously for three years.  He was first diagnosed with Leukemia and then liver cancer seven months later.  He endured radiation and several forms of chemotherapy for the liver and various simultaneous chemotherapy for the Leukemia.  Doctors were often surprised by his progress against these diseases as his oncologist referred to him as his "miracle patient."  Ernie was feeling very well his last week and had an amazingly energetic last day.

Ernie was incredibly kind, loving, and giving.  Anyone who knew him could easily say he had a huge and genuine personality.  He could about make anyone laugh; his jokes were one-of-a-kind, just like him.  Ernie served our country in the Army from 1969 to 1972 and was a very proud veteran.  He always had a passion for serving and connecting with his community, especially through his work as a pinstriper.

He was an amazing artist with such a steady hand.  Ernie striped or painted all sorts vehicles and items for 40 years beginning his career with Neil Averill.  He was able to meet so many wonderful people throughout our community and beyond who he whole-heartedly enjoyed getting to know.  Throughout his career he was most proud of the work he did with Neil while striping for Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, The Boss trucks, and the Hells Angels.

Ernie leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Rosemary, and his 4 children, Ernie, Roman, Frank, and Samantha Jo.  He also leaves three beautiful granddaughters: Angela, Alicia, and Alexus.  He will always be remembered as a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and community member.

We are currently asking for monetary donations to cover the costs of Ernie's funeral, memorial, and medical bills accumulated from his various cancer treatments.  Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated.

If possible, we want to kindly ask for your help in sharing this GoFundMe page in order to begin paying for the expenses.  We appreciate your help and kind words from the bottom of our hearts.

Thank you,

-Velasco family
