Support the Funk Family

Our friend and colleague, Dr. Paul Funk, passed away on April 15, 2023. He was a proud educator and coach for over twenty years. He put his heart and soul into everything he did, and his family was his greatest passion.

For over two decades, Paul wore many hats at DY, and each one he wore well. He was a teacher, coach, and administrator. Whether it was in the classroom, on the playing fields, in the school building, or within the community, Paul’s larger-than-life personality and love of teaching and coaching were contagious.

Of all Paul's roles and achievements, he was most proud to be a husband and a father. He was so proud of his wife Heather and their three children Molly, Madison, and Jack. If you were in a room with Paul for more than 5 minutes, you'd know the ins and outs of all that Molly, Madison and Jack were doing because he was constantly talking about them with such pride and enthusiasm.

The loss of a parent is unimaginable. A gift that we could provide Paul’s family is the ability to continue to participate in the many activities and sports that they love. We want to make it possible for these kids to reach their dreams. It was the thing that meant the most to Paul.
