Support for Allen

Family & Friends,

At the end of May our Dad, Allen Coomes aka Alpaw, was severely burned while working in his shop. He was life flighted to the U of L Hospital burn unit where he is being treated for 3rd and 4th degree burns covering 30% of his body. Allen was burned on the face, arms, hands, and torso. He has already undergone four surgeries with many more expected. He is expected to remain in the ICU burn unit/hospital care for at least 4-6 weeks. As of right now, we don't know what his after hospital care will look like. His recovery is expected to take a minimum of 1 year.

Since our Dad's admission to the hospital, our mother and his wife of 44 years, has been by his side day and night. With Cindy staying at the hospital she has been forced to stop working resulting in leaving them with a lost income. They will be facing many hardships mentally, physically, and financially for the foreseeable future.

We are graciously requesting your help with the financial burdens our parents are facing. We are asking for donations to help with medical expenses, everyday living expenses, and unforeseen financial hardships that may arise. Our family appreciates any and all donations received no matter the size. Your donations will greatly ease the stress that our family faces.

Although it will be a long road to recovery, we are hopeful that our Dad will get back to the things he loves. He enjoys fishing, spending time with his 11 grandkids, tinkering in his shop, watching UK basketball and Saint Louis Cardinals baseball, and always being right even when he is wrong.
