Introduction:

Hello, I am Ibrahim, a 28-year-old father from the Gaza Strip. A month ago, I experienced the joy of welcoming my first daughter into this world. Yet, amidst this joy, my family and I have been living through a harrowing ordeal, marked by constant fear and danger due to the ongoing genocide happening in Gaza.

Our journey has been fraught with displacement and uncertainty. It began in northeast Gaza, from where we had to flee our home. Seeking safety, we moved from one place to another - first to another house, then to Al-Sheikh Redwan, followed by Al-Nasr Street. Each move, driven by the escalating violence, took us further across Gaza - to the east of Khan Yunis, then to its middle, and finally to the south. Now, we find ourselves in a nylon tent on agricultural land in Rafah, alongside my brother's family and my two sisters with their children, totalling ten individuals.

In this fragile shelter, the men sleep outside, braving the elements, while the children, frightened by the nearby shelling, often join them. This makeshift refuge, vulnerable as it is, provides us no respite from the ever-present threat of bombing, leaving us in a perpetual state of fear and uncertainty.

Life in the Shadow of Conflict:

Each day brings with it the challenge of finding food and water, and ensuring the safety of my family. The fear of violence is ever-present, and the sounds of conflict are a constant backdrop to our lives. My family endure these hardships alongside me, facing uncertainty and danger on a daily basis.

The Perpetual Threat of Violence:

No place feels safe in Gaza. Even as we seek shelter, the conflict seems to follow. The experience is particularly distressing for my wife, especially during her pregnancy and now with our newborn daughter. Every moment is shadowed by fear for our family's future.

The Cost of Escape:

We have learned that the cost of safety, the fee for entering Egypt what is known as the "Egyptian coordination", is beyond our humble means. USD 7k per person older than 13 years old is a steep price for safety, yet it's a price we must endeavour to meet to shield our children from relentless violence.

Your Role in Our Journey to Safety:

Your support means more than just financial aid; it represents the hope of safety and a peaceful life for my daughter. It's an opportunity for her to grow in a world filled with love and security, rather than fear and danger.

A Future Beyond Fear:

With your help, we dream of relocating to a place where our daughter can enjoy a normal childhood, marked by laughter and learning, rather than the sounds of conflict. Your contribution is a partnership in our quest for a life of safety and peace.
