"Escaping the Horrors: Urgent Appeal: Help in Gaza

Hello, I am Emad, a Palestinian from Gaza. I am reaching out to you seeking help for me and my family who have been suffering the horrors of an ongoing war in Gaza for the past fIve months. We never intended to leave our land but now we cannot live without the basic needs of life food, medicine and shelter.

We are a family of 8. There's my parents, myself as the eldest son, my wife, and our two daughters. The youngest brother is 17 years old, and the youngest sister is 13.

We had normal lives in our house, normal jobs that would wake up to every morning, but everything changed after the seventh of October.

Nothing remained the same. First, we decided to leave our house and go to our uncle's house, thinking it would be safer than our area. Unfortunately, we didn't take everything we needed, assuming that this war wouldn't last long and would end soon. If only we could have taken our entire house and its memories with us, we would have.

We stayed at our uncle's house for about a month, but then the situation became extremely dangerous, and they started asking us to evacuate the entire Gaza Strip. The sounds of explosions became more terrifying, and they were getting closer to us.

Many people we knew were injured or killed, and their homes were destroyed. So, we decided to flee to the southern part of Gaza, gathering what essential items and necessities we could and setting off.

The journey was frightening and full of danger. We didn't know where we could go in the south of Gaza or where we would live. Fortunately, we had relatives who owned a small piece of land in the south of Gaza, and we sat with them in a tent. However, we didn't bring enough blankets and bedding, and we suffered greatly. It felt like each day passed by like a year.

After our displacement from Gaza, we received news that our house was completely destroyed, and we could only pray. We lost everything, all our memories, all our money.

With the shortage of food, environmental pollution, overcrowding, and severe cold, we faced many illnesses. My father began experiencing stomach problems and went to the hospital, where they told him he needed surgery. However, there is no available healthcare, and there is a shortage of surgical supplies. He has to wait until the war ends to undergo the surgery, and the longer he waits, the more the pain increases. He already has pre-existing chronic conditions and can't find the necessary medication.

The children suffer from colds, the flu, and fever, just like the rest of the family. Recently, my 13-year-old sister contracted hepatitis due to contamination and the spread of epidemics in the southern region and overcrowding.

There are no decent and safe living conditions. There is no security, no medication, and no food. The available food is scarce, of poor quality, and at expensive prices, making it unaffordable for us. The water is contaminated and scarce, and there is no sanitation. We can't maintain the family's health.

My eldest daughter has had a heart condition since birth, requiring regular monitoring, but now there is no way to monitor her health condition.

My youngest daughter wears diapers, and we can't provide them due to their scarcity, and if found, they are expensive.

Every day, the situation becomes more difficult and dangerous. So, I hope you can provide support to help me save my life and my family's life, to leave Gaza, and provide safety and basic necessities for my family.

We don't want to die from explosions, hunger, or diseases, and we don't want to become disabled or injured.

Right now, we are all living in this tent and cooking food over a wood fire.
