Esequiel "Zeke" Mendoza Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
Esequiel “Zeke” Mendoza, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and trustee in the Harlandale Independent School District, passed away Monday February 21, 2021.
Mendoza represented District 3 and served on the board for 12 years. He was 61 years old.
In his two terms, Mendoza exhibited a passion for education and a personal involvement in Harlandale schools. His children and grandchildren were enrolled in the district and he was a proud and dedicated “band parent."
He has been in the community his entire life, was an activist and advocate for the people. Zeke had a passion for change and dedicated his time and service whole-heartedly to Harlandale ISD and the San Antonio community.
Every Christmas, Mendoza and his wife would dress up as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and deliver gifts to young Harlandale students.
Mendoza’s term was set to expire in May. He had filed to run for re-election and had drawn two challengers.
Mendoza was known for his playful demeanor, frequently chatting with his colleagues and making people laugh, he was known by all to be a caring, loving and professional human being.
We are asking our family, friends and the community to help with additional funeral costs for Zeke Mendoza.
Over the last few years, the Mendoza family has suffered economic hardship due to multiple health issues for both Zeke and his wife.
Due to his health issues Zeke had qualified for a life insurance program that had a 2 year contestability period, unfortunately Zeke passed away a few months shy of that date so they family will not be receiving all the funds needed for his burial. His family now faces mounting bills for his funeral expenses, as well as ongoing health costs for his wife.
We are asking for donations to help the family with these costs, any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you
