Eshleman Emergency Fund
Donation protected
As many of you have heard, Tyler Eshleman was caught in a gas explosion on his family farm in Questa, NM on the weekend of November 26. He has significant injuries, but is stable and expected to recover. He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 30% of his body. He was flown to the ICU Burn Unit at Lubbock UMC. It is estimated that he will be there for least 30 days. He is being supported by loved ones at the hospital including his wife, Amelia, and parents, Rod and Cindy.
Tyler had a lapse in his insurance at the time of the accident, and expenses for this emergency are astronomical, including costs for two airlifts, emergency surgeries, OT, PT, daily wound care, a week in ICU and a month or more in the hospital. They will get significant financial support from the hospital, but because burn care is so expensive, the remaining costs are still beyond anything they can dream of paying. If donations exceed their goal, they’ll go towards general living expenses until Tyler is able to get back to work.
Tyler and Amelia are deeply dedicated to their community. They run a farm, providing dairy and vegetables. When they are not busy tending to the land and animals, Tyler leads a non-profit supporting local agriculture and food sovereignty. Amelia is an educator for middle school youth. If that is not enough, they volunteer at the Latir Fire Department. Our community is so much richer and more vibrant because of them, and now we’re asking for your help to give back to those who have given us so much.
Thank you for supporting the Eshlemans during this unbelievably hard time! Please continue to keep Tyler and his family in your hearts and prayers.
