eSIMs for a Family in Gaza
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jody, and for years I've been in touch with a young man named Ahmed in Gaza and now his wife. The war has separated them, with Ahmed trapped in the South as a refugee while his wife, baby, and extended family are struggling to survive in the North. They are sensitive, thoughtful people who wish only for peace. With the cell data service cut off, their main way to stay connected is with the use of eSIMs for phone service from providers such as this one. An eSIM is the electronic version of the little SIM card you stick into your cell phone. It is the only cell data connection that is working in Gaza at present. In real-life terms, an eSIM lets Ahmed see photos and video of his baby daughter so that he doesn't feel so alone in a refugee camp where he knows no one. I've been buying two eSIMs per month with 10GB of data for Ahmed's wife and brother so that he can stay connected with them. I'm fundraising to help cover these costs and to provide extra eSIMs for other family members if possible. If you prefer, instead of donating money, you can buy a 30-day eSIM yourself and send me the activation info to send to them.
Instead of photos of rubble, which you can see on the news, I'm sharing a photo of Ahmed's beloved cat from more bearable times.
