Doug’s Cancer Journey
Donation protected
While at the beach with his family, Doug experienced swelling in his feet and legs and noticed his skin and eyes were yellow. He went to an urgent care facility in Destin and was told to get to the ER immediately. Doug wanted to get back to Chattanooga first so they drove home and then went straight to Parkridge Hospital. After a full night of tests, he was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning (7/31) and continued to have more tests and procedures done. As of today (8/4), he has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer which has spread to his liver. He will be getting a port put in at 1pm and the plan is to start chemo on Monday (8/7). They are taking this day by day, hour by hour and they will be calling hospice in soon. Doug is strong and is prepared to fight this. Doug and Barbara are both self-employed and this diagnosis has completely caught them off guard. If you’re able, please consider giving to help with medical expenses and bills. Please be praying for Doug, his wife Barbara, his children Aiden and Lola, and his extended family as well.
