ESP Strike Fund for Southwest

Southwest High School is located in south west Minneapolis.

In a show of solidarity, we are raising $9,200 to be divided evenly among Southwest ESPs (Education Support Professionals) and staff members that are meeting significant hardships due to no paychecks during our strike.

Southwest’s ESPs are the heart of our school. An ESP could be employed as dean, safety and security, special education assistant (SEA), assistant educator (AE), bilingual assistant educator, or family liaison. They share the same diversity as our students. They have a significant impact on our students and deserve pay that reflects that.

**As we are in our third week and have many days without pay, it has come to our attention that others outside of the ESP role may need financial support. The amount asked for has been increased with hope that the financial assistance may be shared even more widely. Thank you for your support of MPS staff!
