Hi, my name is Charmaine. My sister, Mary C. Jones, and I started a charity in honor of our mother, Esperanza. She always cared about people by providing a non-judgmental ear for all who came across in her life. If you knew Esperanza or are her child, grandchild or other family or friend, you know her spirit! She was the most loving person everyone could come across. In return, she was very much loved by all. Her caring spirit radiated in all that she did! She was an artist and an entrepreneur, but her last work before she retired involved caring for the elderly as a home health nurse, where she provided hands-on, in-home care for her patients. Their care meant the most to her. So, in her memory we opened this service, Esperanza Counseling and Care, to give back as she loved to do. When she passed, I felt a part of her still with me. I am a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and my goal is to expand the counseling services to include helping the community. The problem: Many people need counseling or medical care but can’t afford it. Their deductible or their copay is too high, or they don’t have insurance. This section of our community deserves to have quality services too. The funds will be used to support those who cannot afford counseling or medical care but need it. Please help us bring the spirit of Esperanza (Hope) to people with depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, or other medical care so that they can get quality help!
