Esperanza {Espe} Pena’s Recovery From Hit and Run

Donation protected

Early Sunday morning, as Espe stepped out into the street along side her husband’s truck,  she was struck by a passing vehicle. The vehicle hit her from behind, pushing her into the parked truck. The driver didn’t even stay at the scene to check on her. This occurred on Freedom Boulevard in Watsonville, CA. Espe suffered major injuries and had to be airlifted to Stanford Hospital, a level 1 trauma center. Espe is the mother of 2 young children, and was due to return to work this week from her maternity leave. She needs major surgery to repair multiple fractures in her spine and pelvis and to stop internal bleeding. She has a very long road to recovery ahead of her, and will likely need to stay in the hospital for a while.

The funds raised will go towards medical bills, transportation costs for her husband as he makes the 120 mile round trip drive to see Espe daily, as well as to supplement lost wages for both Espe and Damion and funds to cover needs for their 2 young children.  If any friends or family would like to donate directly to reduce the money paid out in fees, please contact me via phone or FB.

We’re trying to do everything we can to support our nephew, Damion, and his wife, Espe, during this hard time, and also maintain some stability for their babies. any donations are greatly appreciated.

Additionally, if anyone local in Watsonville has any information about the accident, please contact Watsonville PD.
