During the pandemic break, a group comprised of Gunn High School students created the Essential Heros Campaign. Our goal is to support and show our appreciation for all the sacrifices Essential Workers and 1st responders make as they strive to keep us safe during the COVID-19 crisis. We plan to use funds raised through donations to purchase food from LOCAL businesses to feed hospital workers around the Bay Area. Sourcing food locally also supports businesses struggling financially through unplanned closures due to COVID-19. We are working with CCAT, an organization in Fresno that supports essential workers to supply 75 farmworkers with masks. These vulnerable farmworkers, often undocumented and without health coverage, work tirelessly and need protective equipment to safely feed the entire state. We are coordinating with local EMS, Fire, and Police departments with the goal of ensuring each 1st responder has the appropriate PPE equipment to keep them healthy. We have already printed several masks for O'Connor Hospital nurses, which will be delivered this week! Through the generosity of IDTech, we just received some new 3D printers to expand our output, and are busy printing 3D: Facemasks, Headbands, Visor frames, and Faceplates-to protect the 1st responders and minimize their vulnerability as they work tirelessly to keep us safe.
Money earned through this Gofund Me will be used to purchase and ship more printing materials and construction supplies (PLA plastic, insulating foams/rubber gasket seals. elastic/paracord cord locks, etc.), so we can support more of our Heroes, the 1st responders.
Please donate to our Essential Heroes Campaign, every person and every contribution makes a difference!!
