Feeding Healthcare Workers x Supporting Local Businesses
How did Essential Provisions Group come into existence? Like many of you, we are scattered across the country, away from friends and colleagues….we’ve been staying home, working remotely, and looking for ways to help in our communities.
To show our appreciation to the healthcare workers at the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis, who are performing extraordinary acts of skill, compassion and bravery in order to comfort those in their care, we are sending them healthy, delicious comfort food from our favorite neighborhood restaurants. By feeding the doctors, nurses and technicians in our hospitals we are also supporting small business owners, cooks, servers, food distributors and local farmers.
How You Can Help
Many emergency departments have upwards of 150 workers daily. That’s a lot of mouths to feed!
$11= approximately 1 Meal
ALL proceeds go to preparing meals, which will be made by Lighthouse, a fantastic neighborhood restaurant in Williamsburg that has active in our community for several years.
So far, we have provided over 320 meals to the emergency departments at Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital and Brooklyn Hospital Center, as well as to urgent care providers at CityMD.
We are planning to send the next round of 200 meals to the Manhattan and Brooklyn emergency departments at NYU Langone on Tuesday May 19th and Wednesday May 20th.
We hope you can help out! We would appreciate your contribution, but SHARING to your networks is just as important! Please tag us @essentialprovisionsgroup and #essentialprovisionsgroup #epg
We will send weekly updates with progress, pictures and more for you to share.
