Establish a center for children in the village

My name is Jessica, I'm from Germany, living in Zanzibar, an island close to Tansania. I wish to support local people. Since I came here one year ago, I have a good friend, Yohana. He is from Tansania, Mainland. He belongs to the Massai tribe and lives in a small village with his family.

To support his family he is supposed to come to Zanzibar and work long time at the beach for small money.

Yohana has a big dream.

He wishes to support his family as much as he can and also his local neighbors, children and people around him. So he came to me with great idea. And I want to support him but I need help and your support.

Yohana already has a big plot. He spend all his money for it. Which is not easy because he also has to take care about his family.

The plot is located in the centre of a village, close to a hospital and a secondary school.

The problem for most of the kids in his area is, that they have to drive with schoolbus more than 2 hours to go to school. Every day! Every morning and again after school!

So the idea is to use his plot for building a kidscenter, where the students can live during the week. Also the family of the patients (hospital is close) can live there to be able to visit their Relatives.

The idea is to start with one house with 4 rooms upstairs. 3 rooms with 4 beds inside for the students and one double room for the relatives. Downstairs we will build some space for shops. To be able to sell stuff for school, like books, pencils and uniforms. And shops for food and local restaurant. Also we need a local person to stay with the kids and take care about them. So with this project we give a lot of people the chance to get a sustainable job.

For this project we need for the beginning

- sand

- iron for the roof top

- wood for windows and doors

- salary constraction workers

This project will help him and his family to have a sustainable future with good regularly income and better education for the students and also for his own children.

10€ is small money for you but means a lot to the local people here in Africa.

To earn money is not easy this time right now. But with this project Yohana and his family is able to have a good life without worrying about how to survive the next day.
