Estefanía Rebellón, Yes We Can World Foundation

2023 TOP 10 CNN HERO

The Elevate Prize Foundation will be matching donations to all of the 2023 Top 10 CNN Heroes up to $50,000 per hero.

At 10, Estefanía Rebellón and her family were forced to flee their home in Colombia because of death threats. As a migrant child, Estefanía found support from teachers in Miami schools and ultimately thrived. In 2018, when she joined a volunteer trip to Tijuana, she saw migrant children living in limbo without access to schools or an education and decided to act. Transforming buses into mobile classrooms and partnering with shelters in Mexico, today Rebellón’s Yes We Can World Foundation has opened four school locations along the border and currently has three mobile school buses. The group has served more than 3,100 migrant children from 10 countries.
