My amazing Clark County community!

Our hero is a HOMELESS ADVOCATE WHO WAS IN THE PARK WORKING TO PERFORM OUTREACH!!!!!

While at Esther Short park on 5/16 approximately 4:30PM a group of 5 teenagers were skateboarding on the clearly marked, off limits gazebo.

The elderly gentleman who cleans the park tries to ask them to stop and was met with intense aggression prompting an onlooker gentleman to run in to protect the elderly man and place himself between the teens and the older man.

The teenagers surrounded the man who was trying to support the elderly man and beat the man severely with their skateboards. It was horrific.

He suffered a massive gaping head injury, hits to his face, side, legs and ribs with skateboards.

Numerous people came rushing, including myself, but it was people pulling out their phones to call 911 and record the incident that prompted the teens to skate off. But not before the ringleader took one last punch at the guy's face and screamed that his "hand was broken."

I called 911 and grabbed my first aid kit and immediately assessed for a concussion, traumatic brain injury and put pressure on his head wound. (I am a social worker.)

A few people followed the teens to find their location for the police.

The gentleman was taken immediately to the hospital.

To the people who helped: you're angels.

The gentleman is beyond shocked and grateful after I informed him of the results of our community efforts to submit evidence regarding the incident.

He reported he had 8 staples in his skull along with other injuries and his road to recover will be long....and expensive.

Let's come together and make sure he doesn't also pay financially for stepping in and being a hero!!!
