Support for Rob Swift and Family
Hi, my name is Corinne and Rob and his family mean the world to me. I met Sam over a decade ago when our kids were little and in a playgroup together. We hit it off immediately and the laughs came easily. Rob always said we were like the two old guys on the Muppet Show...always laughing and cackling at our own jokes. We thought we were funnier than most others did!! Recently though, the laughs are harder to come by. Rob has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with several metastasis on the brain and spine. Although he has had several treatments the prognosis remains the same...terminal. Rob remains positive but realistic.
It is that optimism that allowed him to fulfill his lifelong dream of opening his own guitar shop in the dead of winter, 2017. Galt Guitar Shop was one of Rob's greatest personal achievements, second only to his family...Samantha and sons Owen and Liam.
Growing up in Scarborough Rob was always a fan of the Toronto music scene. His love for music was confirmed when he picked up a guitar at 15 and started to play. This led to him being in a number of bands throughout high school and into his late 20's. The most successful being North Star Jack who eventually got to headline at the Horseshoe Tavern in the early 2000's... Rob knew he had "made it"!
This Go Fund Me account is meant to help raise funds the family will incur such as daily parking at the hospital, meals and eventually, funeral expenses.
Rob, Sam, Owen and Liam thank everyone for all of the love and support they have been given, the meals dropped off, calls, texts just to check in and good vibes that have been sent.
If you choose to also donate to this cause they and I thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. xo
