Run for Progress - ESVS Mission 'Ethiopia'
Donation protected
Join us in enhancing vascular healthcare in Ethiopia! Run for Progress - ESVS Mission 'Ethiopia’ is a charity run organized to raise funds for sending expert vascular surgeons from the European Society of Vascular Surgery (ESVS) to Ethiopia. Your support will help us share life-saving techniques and knowledge, significantly improving vascular care for communities in need. Run with us, donate, and help circulate hope and health!
Currently, Tikur Anbessa (Black Lion) University Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has only three vascular surgery consultants and 5-6 vascular surgery residents. This is in a developing country with a population of 123 million, including 5.4 million in Addis Ababa alone.
We propose a humanitarian exchange where the proceeds from the charity run will be used to build vascular surgery capacity in Ethiopia. The funds will finance:
• Travel and accommodation for up to two vascular surgeons from the ESVS to visit Tikur Anbessa Hospital in Addis Ababa. They will mentor local personnel on essential procedures.
• Purchase of basic surgical equipment, such as vascular sutures and puncture sets for angiography.
Applications for ESVS ambassadors to be sent to Ethiopia will be open to all interested ESVS members after the annual meeting. Announcements will be made via the ESVS website (https://esvs.org/) and on this GoFundMe page.
