Eternal Heroes Memorial Re-Dedication Day

Following ten ceremonies and nine years of unbroken, faithful and dedicated service honoring the our liberators from the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, the memorial will soon undergo a significant makeover.

This target date for completion is our Tenth Anniversary Ceremony of Remembrance on Monday, June 6, 2022.

We call it Memorial Re-Dedication Day.

Existing elements of the memorial will be replaced or upgraded.

New features will enhance each visitor’s experience and understanding of the Raveno Boys.

All three memorial plaques will be replaced to include the names of the 100 Raveno Boys identified since 2012.

Those killed in action will be identified by a gold star beside their name.

Sixty-four permanent plaques, one for each of the living memorial conifers and olive trees in the Peace Garden, and the mimosa tree in the future arboretum.

Uplights will illuminate the memorial panels by night.

A low, circular wall in local Norman stone will surround the parachute circle.

The wooden deck access to the memorial will be replaced.

An information panel will explain events in Ravenoville in June 1944, and the story of the Raveno Boys.
