Mental Health Services for Underprivileged

At CrossFit Dwala, we know firsthand that mental health is just as important as physical health. We have seen many transformations within our gym walls that were both physical and mental. One could argue that our community's most remarkable athlete transformations were a beautiful blend of both.

If you have been to our 6:00 am class in the past few months, you may have had the opportunity to meet one of our outstanding members, Dr. Weston Robins. Dr. Robins not only has a remarkable story himself, but he has created a facility, Eternal Strength Experiential Therapeutic Youth Center, that provides counseling and therapy for youths ages 10-25 and their families. Jake and I took the time to visit the facility to learn about what he and his therapists do. We were blown away by the attention to detail and care they give. They have so many different forms of therapy they can provide and create custom care plans to seek out the best possible treatment plans for their youth and families in need.

Unfortunately, not everyone can afford mental health treatment plans. Because of this, Dr. Robins and his wife have also founded Cosmic Lamb, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that helps provide treatment to youth and their families of lower socio-economic status from underprivileged communities.

We would like for the Dwala community (and beyond!) to join us in fundraising to help provide the much-needed help a youth and their family may need in a time of mental health crisis. If we can help change the path of one youth, who knows what the positive ripple effect in the world could be?
