Ethan unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the age of 21 following a tragic vehicle accident( https://heritagefh.ca/obituaries/ethan-birman/ ). In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in memory of Ethan to start a scholarship fund. This scholarship will be set up to assist young individuals to pursue their passion for trades.

From a young age, Ethan knew he wanted to be in the trade industry. He started his training as an auto mechanic in grade 11 through a full-time coop program. Then went to Boreal College in Sudbury in grade 12 to pursue his level 1 Heavy-Duty machinery mechanic through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP). He entered the job market at the young age of 17, where he worked as a Heavy-Duty machinery mechanic for a few years. Through this, he discovered that he had an even bigger passion for operating Heavy-Duty machines rather than "fixing" them. He spent the past few years working his way up to a level 2 Operator all while also securing his AZ license. He loved being an Operator and was looking forward to transitioning from the loader into the shovel.

With funds collected, the family will provide financial help for young individuals to follow their dreams of pursuing a career in trades, as Ethan did. In doing so, Ethan will be commemorated within his community ... a community Ethan was so proud to be a part of and which held an important part in raising him to be the young man that he became.

The family would like to thank you for your contribution.
