Ethan Bland Memorial Scholarship
Tax deductible
The Walker College Foundation Scholars are saddened by the loss of their friend and fellow scholar, Ethan Bland, who suffered an accidental death on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Ethan was an excellent student and was attending Bevill State Community College on a Walker College Foundation full-tuition scholarship.
Ethan was a caring, generous, and involved Bevill State student. He was an officer of Phi Theta Kappa, a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and a member of the Walker College Foundation Scholars Society. As an officer for Phi Theta Kappa, he attended several regional and national conferences. He was an avid volunteer and gave his time to events sponsored by Bevill State and other non-profits in the community. He worked in the Bevill State concession stand at every basketball game. He donated money and Christmas presents to the toy drive for Capstone Rural Health Center. He rang the bell for the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign. He also donated food and supplies to the Secret Pantry.
Because of Ethan’s generosity, dedication, and selfless heart, the Walker College Foundation Scholars’ Society is raising money to fund a Fall 2018 scholarship for another generous and hard-working student like Ethan. The scholars are accepting donations to fund the Ethan Bland Memorial Scholarship through GoFundMe.com, through the Walker College Foundation website at www.wcfdn.org, and by check to Walker College Foundation, P. O. Box 2228, Jasper, AL 35502. Please note “In Memory of Ethan Bland”. Donations for the scholarship may also be given to Holly Trawick at Walker College Foundation, Allison Hadder at Bevill State, and any of the Walker College Foundation scholars. Thank you so much for your support of the Ethan Bland Memorial Scholarship. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
