Ethan Colangelo CICC

Hello,

My name is Ethan Colangelo from Toronto, Canada and I am entering my fourth year at The Juilliard School. The program at Juilliard is incredibly intensive in terms of dance training but the students also have a strong interest in choreography and have a supportive platform to grow their abilities and experiences. My choreographic interests have been very large since my arrival at Juilliard. 

This year I submitted a piece I created to the Copenhagen International Choreography Competition in Denmark (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ofvXK8Z65s&t=).
Past winners and participants of this program include Bryan Arias, Roy Assaf, Idan Sharabi and Gentian Doda. This competition is incredibly prestigious and received 400 applications in total this year, they only accepted 10 choreographers from all around the world. This is a huge honor, especially as I am still a young choreographer in school and this Competition is specifically geared towards much older choreographers. 

This is an incredible opportunity that has the ability to progress my choreographic career immensely and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and very excited to participate.

That being said unfortunately this endeavour is very expensive to fly myself and my three incredible dancers; Barry Gans, Mason Manning and Zachary Gonder to Copenhagen from New York. These expenses also include our food and transportation once we have arrive in Copenhagen. That is why I have created this fundraiser to achieve my goal of 3500 US dollars to contribute to the expenses of this trip. I as well will be teaching dance classes and working during my time in Toronto to contribute to this amazing opportunity.
