Our friends, Darin and Amanda Guthrie, are in a battle right now! On 3/23/21, their 13 year old son, Ethan, was with siblings yesterday taking trash to his grandfather's dumpster, when a huge dog ran out in front of them; ejecting Ethan from the Polaris Ranger. Ethan was life flighted to Tulsa with many injuries including a fractured skull, brain bleeding, fractured collar bone, fractured shoulder, collapsed lung and an open wound in the back of his head. The injuries may be more extensive but due to swelling, they have not been able to visualize them on imaging. They are told that the next few days are still serious.
9am update: Ethan's vitals are still stable, he’s still sedated He started running a fever in the night so they have ice packs on him trying to get the fever to come down. Doctors are placing a drain in his head today to monitor his brain swelling. He is responding to stimuli when pinched and his eyes are reacting when examined.
3:30pm update: He may also have a fractured elbow but waiting on confirmation of that.
This family believes in the power of prayer and they are depending on us to hold them up in prayer. They are a family of tremendous strength and although their family is in this incredible trial, their faith has not wavered. We have already seen the mighty hand of God moving in their circumstances.
Help us pray and hold these dear friends up in prayer! It's times like this it is good to have friends and these folks know how to be great friends! Ethan is a gentle soul, quiet in nature and stands in the back of the crowd to not draw attention or been seen but let's bombard Heaven for him!
The family has not asked for financial support but for us all to join together praying for Ethan's recovery and complete healing. They will be in the hospital for an unknown amount of time, facing massive hospitalization bills. They do have Christian healthcare but will still have a deductible to meet. Dad is the breadwinner and while staying at Ethan's bedside, he will not have any income. We all know it is expensive to be away from home, eating out and surviving in a clinical setting so their expenses will add up quick.
Let's help them by sharing a love offering! This is one of those freak accidents that you never see coming but it's times like these that friends, family, and members of the community can bide together and help alleviate some of the stress. No amount is too small!
Please feel free to share! His story has reached across this country to Saints everywhere praying. Let's show the Guthrie family how much they mean to us!
