Hi guys, my names is Ethan holt. I’m a 19 year old football player and coach from Milton Keynes.
In April of this year whilst playing for AFC
Dunstable in the Beds senior cup final
at Kenilworth Road, I sadly tore my ACL after landing awkwardly during a challenge, and i require surgery.
This is a huge set back for me, and it has been hard to accept that i may not play football for the next few years.
My life has always heavily revolved around football, Being a footballer, playing as high as possible and dedicating my life to achieving my ultimate goal. Not being able to put weight through my knee has also meant that i can’t coach as much i’d like, so both my current sources of incoming have been affected.
The day after the injury I booked a scan and it came back worse than I imagined. I was scared about what was to come and knew then I needed surgery. When asking to go through the NHS I discovered sadly the waiting list would be 2 years and the private operation cost would be too much for me and my family to cover.
This is why i have set up a go fund me and where you guys can hopefully help make a huge difference to my future by helping me raise the money for my operation.
I know i’ll play professionally, i have the hunger and drive and mindset to do so regardless of how long it takes to get back on the pitch. But i also know how important the next 2-3 years could be in terms of attracting interest from the professional game.
The injury came at an awful time, i was scoring goals playing well and getting interest from EFL clubs . If i can get back on the pitch in the next 8-12 months i’m confident i can pick up where i left off, and make everyone who sponsor’s me proud.
I thank everyone who read this and donates even a small amount in hope to ultimately get back to the pitch as soon as possible. It means a lot
