As a family, we are raising money for our sister in order to help give her son, our nephew Ethan. Who has unexpectedly gained his angel wings on the 25th of October 2023.
Ethans story...
Ethan was a 19 year old boy, living with a disability in which affected his and his families everyday life. His mom was his full-time care giver and worked hard all her life, bringing him up alone, alongside four other children. Providing him with the best life possible, despite the complications of his blindness and disabilities. He still lived his day-to-day life with a smile on his face, bringing joy and love to all who knew and loved him. Due to blindness and his disabilities growing up, Ethan wasn't able to enjoy and experience most things children his age would have. This included reaching milestones such as walking and talking. Being wheelchair bound. However, he always enjoyed going to school at Oak Wood Special School. Where he enjoyed sensory activities and his weekly swimming classes. As he was blind, he loved sounds and music; especially The sugar babes ('Push the button' was his favourite!) and the calming voice of David Attenborough and the animals.
Recently Ethan took a turn for the worst, unexpectedly spending 7 days in the intensive care unit at Walsall Manor Hospital. During his stay, his condition fluctuated. After contracting Aspirational Pneumonia for the fourth time within two years, he sadly lost his battle due to being too weak to recover from treatments, countless lines and intensive physio therapy on his lungs. He was unable to breathe alone without the provided life support, where he lost his battle leaving his whole family distraught and devastated at just 19 years old. We would like to thank the ICU staff at Walsall Manor Hospital for taking exceptional care of our beloved Ethan, doing everything they could for him. whilst supporting us as a family during this hard time.
We are hoping by creating this page, we will be able to remove some of the stress and strains from our sister. Losing a son at such a young age is heartbreaking enough without the financial stress she will undoubtedly endeavour. Please donate as little or as much as possible, so that we will be able to give Ethan the most beautiful send off in which him and his family deserve.
Ethan will forever leave a hole in our hearts and will be loved and missed by everyone!
