Music was a huge, joyous, important part of Ethan's life. He had a beautiful expressive voice & huge range. University of Michigan MPulse youth vocal music summer camp was the highlight of his singing experience both years he attended. Those summer weeks were among the happiest of his life. He came home fired up and excited. He loved the camaraderie, the dedication, the hard work, the inspired teachers, the friends that meant so much to him. He was dazzled by the preview of college life camp provided, and getting to hang out in Ann Arbor. And he really loved the music the group created -- hearts wide open, singing directly from their souls as a multifaceted, nuanced, powerful whole.
Ethan was also passionate about social justice. He was the most empathetic person I've ever known, ever since he was tiny. He wanted everyone to have opportunities, fun, love. He was sweet and kind. He really cared, and he let people know it.
Ethan would be so proud to know he had a scholarship to his beloved MPulse program in his name, established so that more talented kids had a chance to enjoy the magical summer singing experiences that meant so much to him. Please help set up a memorial endowment to provide funding for students in need. We, his family, would be so grateful to know that Ethan's warm heart and sweet voice could carry on in this legacy.
