Help Us Stay by Our Father's Side

I’m not one to do this and I never have been able to ask for help very well. Currently, my father has fractured his C1-C3, complete spinal injury, and is paralyzed from the neck down and in a medical coma on life support, struggling to maintain any functions over his body, breathing, temperature, or blood pressure, and fighting for his life.

My sister and I are currently staying with him to make decisions for him because he is incapacitated, and it has been trying times, to say the least. It has definitely been one of the most stressful weeks of my life and has stressed us physically, mentally, and financially. Being unable to work and being almost 3 and a half hours away from home has really caused stress and worry about how we can continue to be here for him.

My aunt brought up the idea of making a GoFundMe because I never would have thought about it. But right now, my father needs all the support he can get, and this looks like it is going to be a hard road ahead for everyone. We are not sure how much longer we can continue not being able to work to remain with our father, between the unforeseen expenses to come for my father along with hotels, gas, food, and bills at our homes while we are here not able to work.

I’m unaware of what the future holds or how this is going to end, but I want to be there for my father and be able to make sure the right decisions are made and continue to support his fight for his life.
