PRAYERS FOR PRESTON
Donation protected
Hello from our 865 Family. We are calling on all of our 865 Families, our communities, our friends and anyone that feels led to help. Above all we ask for your prayers and the prayers of this community for Preston Hampton and his family during this time.
Preston is 15 years old and will be attending Knoxville Central High School. Preston played Middle School basketball this past season at Gresham Middle School and joined the 865 Family this season on one of our 8th grade teams coached by his dad, Justin.
Preston injured his knee in the very last tournament of the season a couple of weeks ago. His family immediately scheduled him an appointment to get it checked out. During the checkup it was discovered that Preston has a very aggressive cancer in his leg called Synovial Sarcoma. The tumor is behind the right knee and attached an artery.
Preston will be treated at Children’s Hospital starting next week and will have 2 months of chemo to shrink the tumor due to it’s location. When the tumor shrinks sufficiently, it can be removed. He will then do another round of chemo. The doctors believe that this was caught in time and have a great chance to remove it completely. This was definitely a God thing from the very start with the injury and discovering of it during the knee checkup.
This family is amazing from top to bottom. They are all in high spirits and believe God is in control and that Preston will soon be back to normal and playing the game he loves. Preston is a strong kid who has faith that he will be back on the floor in no time.
While everyone is hopeful and we all believe this will pass, the sudden news will leave this family in a hard spot with medical bills, having to miss work, and several other things that will be different for some time. We are reaching out for this family and asking for your donations. Above all, please pray for this young man and agree with us that God has his hand all over it.
If you see Preston around, let him know he is in your prayers and encourage him that he will be back on the hardwood very soon! I appreciate each and every one of you that will take time to read this. If you’re unable to donate, we hope you will pray for this family. Please share with your churches and have them continue to lift him up. God Bless.
