Aloha everyone,
On Christmas Eve, our family suffered an unexpected devastating tragedy. A tragic car accident took the life of my brother Tito's beloved wife Eugenia Villanueva. She was loved by everyone, always smiling & happy.
Her youngest daughter, Jenny Anne, was also in the car accident. Aside from losing her mom, she suffered laceration on her arm, fractured femur & toe on her left leg. She immediately started physical & occupational therapy after undergoing surgery. Jenny was finally discharged on New Year’s Day & will continue her long recovery at home. Jenny's boyfriend, Raiden Pagatpatan, was also in the accident. He suffered lacerations to his arm & a fractured ankle which also required surgery.
Unfortunately, Eugenia’s father, Delfin Geronimo, is still in very critical condition with multiple life threatening injuries. He is currently in the ICU @ Queen's Medical Center with an injury to his spinal cord which resulted in paralysis from his neck down, an amputated arm, and collapsed lungs. Delfin is hooked up to a ventilator & will require more surgeries and 24 hour care. We are hoping that he will be able to get well enough to come back home to Kauai to be with family.
Along with family & friends, we decided to start a gofundme to help all of them with any current and upcoming medical & financial needs. It will be a long journey to recovery for everyone, both mentally & physically. The Villanueva, Pagatpatan & Geronimo family kindly asks for your support & healing prayers during these difficult times. We are humbled & blessed for all who came to help at the scene: our wonderful AMR family, all of the fine First Responders team including KPD and KFD, our awesome Wilcox Medical Center ER/4th floor family/surgery team, Queen’s Medical Center, the East Kauai Lions Club & the whole community. We are grateful for the many individuals and organizations who have reached out to us. We are touched beyond words for your outpouring love, generosity & kind gestures.
