URGENT Support to Evacuate My Family From Gaza
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Compassionate Souls.
My name is Alex Sandro from Denmark and I have set up this fund, helping my dear friend Mohammed Dakka's family escape and survive the ongoing war in Gaza.
This is his story;
I reach out to you today with a heavy heart and an urgent plea for help.
I have 15 family members still alive in Gaza (one of them with special needs) . Our family in Gaza has been torn apart by the devastating effects of the war. In January 2024, our home was bombed, leaving our family shattered and grief-stricken. Tragically, my sister's husband got severely injured leaving their 5 children to be taken care of only by her. Our family has been stuck in the North of Gaza ever since the start of the war. They are now staying in a tent that is not inhabitable; sleeping on the ground for 179 days now because their own house was completely destroyed.
My heart aches, especially for my sister, her husband and five children. Their quest for safety has been a journey fraught with hunger and fear as they sought refuge from one shelter to another. Yet, the realisation that no place was truly safe forced them back to their home, which was recently hit, though thankfully, they emerged unharmed.
With the border broadly closed, Egypt currently requests approximately $5000 per person to secure permission to leave. With himself and 14 dependents, this makes the cost of securing the permissions alone to be $75,000, plus potential admin and other travel fees to reach safety in Egypt. The full breakdown of the final costs will be recorded and shared on the Gofundme page in an update (as with other pages).
As Ramadan, the month of compassion and charity, dawns upon us, I humbly implore your support. Please, share our GoFundMe campaign widely and consider contributing. Your generosity will not only provide solace to my family but also alleviate the burden carried by my grieving parents, It will also help my sick mother (61 years old ) to survive and my brother and his family of 5 to have a new opportunity in life.
Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for your kindness and solidarity.
With warm regards, Mohammed Dakka❤️
