Kim's Cancer Treatment

Hello friends, family members, and loved ones.

Not many know this, but one week before Kim's health scare-turned-cancer diagnosis began, she received a call from the owner of the company she was working for, and she informed her that Kim was being laid off. Three days later, Kim was admitted to the ER for a blood transfusion and spent three days in the ICU of Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She received multiple scans, along with iron and B12 infusions. She was discharged with orders to follow up with her OB here in NC as the hospital staff suspected a hemorrhaged ruptured ovarian cyst caused the bleeding. We arrived back in NC, and following a colonoscopy, it was discovered that Kim had a mass on the rectum.

Further scans would confirm her official diagnosis of stage 3 anal cancer. Kim is currently undergoing concurrent chemotherapy and radiation treatment. She is on week four and has two weeks left. With insurance coverage, our current medical bills are upwards of $14,000. We can only anticipate this increasing as time passes. Despite our best attempts at negotiating with each provider's billing department to accept the lowest possible monthly payment for each bill, they are working as hard as possible to collect the total amount as quickly as possible.

With Ronel's employment now our only source of income for our family of four, these expenses have caused significant financial hardship. We cannot keep up with the demands and pray that God will provide, but we need help.

Suppose we can meet this goal. In that case, our medical expenses will be completely paid off, and we can go back to worrying about everyday expenses for a family of 4 on one income until Kim finds her next opportunity.
