Emma's New York Times Fund

My name is Emma Grace Moon and I am currently a high school junior in Asheville, North Carolina. I recently was accepted into an NYU Pre-College Summer program and I am seeking help in paying the tuition. It is a 6-week summer program where high school students from around the world come to attend college level courses, stay in NYU dorms, and experience the life of an NYU student. There are many courses that you can take based on your interests. I am focusing on Journalism, which is something I want to pursue in college and hopefully after. In the NYU Journalism Summer Academy, I will learn new techniques and sharpen my skills with the many opportunities the program has to offer. My goal is to raise the money by May 1st, which is the deadline for all costs (dorms, food, college-courses, etc.). It would be a dream come true if I was able to spend the summer in NYC and pursue my passion at the same time. This program will not only allow me to gain exposure to new people and surroundings, but it would allow me to  make connections that I would use in my future.
